The Lordsburg-Hidalgo Public Library has been in op- eration in Hidalgo County since 1919. To the efforts Of the Women's Club of that day and volunteers, the library was started as a place for the chil- dren of Lordsburg to be able to have a place to read. After a number of years the library was established as a county library, with assistance from.the City of Lordsburg to continue the only free public service to its citizens still in existence today. The rest of the week will feature door prizes and special bookmarks and open house visi- tation for anyone using the li- brary.
