HIDALGO COUN'FY HERALD FRIDAYr APRIL 24, 200 5 rdsburg trackst win first meet in 5 years Courtesy submission The Lordsburg High School boys and girls track teams trav- eled to Silver City last Tuesday to participate in the 2009 Hidalgo Relays. Both teams were able to capture first place overall and just about everyone received a medal Or ribbon. The following placed first at the meet: AHS track travels to C0bre By ELIZABETH RICHINS/ Hidalgo County Herald Animas High School's Var- sity Track Team just keeps going and going. The team attended ~ their third track meet on Friday, April 17. in Cobre. The meet was held on the Cobre High School Track. The Animas girls' team got i 3rd place overall in the meet. In , individual events, those who re- ceived medals were: Jaci Hatch. who got 1~t in the 100m hurdles, while Dawna "Walter placed 2"d, Dawna also got 1't in the High Jump, jumping a height of 4' 10".. In the 300m hurdles. Dawna placed 1s'. Boaz Salinas- 1600 Jason Gallegos-Pole Vault Abel Lara-30O Hurdles Adrian Marquez-Discus I600 M Medley-Javier Dominguez. Jason Galleggs and Boaz Salinas. GLENWOOD POND: Trout fishing was good using spinners and power bait. LAKE ROBERTS: Trout fishing was fair using wooly buggers, salmon eggs, worms and power bait. Fishing for bass was fair using worms and crank baits. Fishing was fair using stink baits for catfish. PERCHA DAM: Fishing was fair using chartreuse and white grubs and crank baits for walleye. We had no reports on other species. QUEMADO LAKE: Trout fishing was fair using power bait and salmon eggs. RIO GRANDE: Water flow below Elephant Butte on Monday was 1,760cfs. Fishing below Elephant Butte was fair using white and chartreuse grubs for walleye and a few white bass. Fishing below Caballo was fair using grubs and crank baits for walleye.
