Rodriguez Mayor J4/1 lc' SHNH novating Wing of facility By LORENZO ALBA, JR. How about the weather in Lordsburg? Warm, sunny and delight- ful! At Sunshine Haven we're taking advantage of the situation and taking our resident~ outdoors to enjoy the warmth of the sun and fresh air. We continue to work hard in our renovation of the 100 Wing of Our facility. The walls, handrails, trim, and doors have all been painted and look great. The ceiling has been repaired and some of the plum- ing has been worked on thus f~. Maintenance Director, Jason Jacquez said there are still a couple of months worth of work left before we can open the wing. "We still need to replace a few windows and screens and more plumbing work to do," said Jacquez. "The floors have to be refinished as well. "We're making these renovations with the intention of bringing our census up and bringing more services to our facility," said Greg Whitaker, Administrator at Sunshine Haven. "We want to have the best facility in the area and now that we have the right people in place and are making renovations we just need some more residents," he added. The staff is excited about the 100 Wing and We aim to show it off to the public when we're finished with it. We will need you help to fill the wing up with new residents. Please tell your families and friends about our facility and all the improvement we are making here not only with staff but also with infrastructure. This week we'd also like to thank Belinda Chavez over at the Hidalgo Medical Senior Services for inviting our residents and staff to its Annual Volunteer Banquet and Seniors Prom. We had several residents attend along with some of our staff. It was a great success and we comment the staff at the Ena Mitchell Senior Citizens Center for a successful event and their generosity, kindness and time.
