I0 HIDALGO COUNTY HERALD Special TJ Site tours offered June 12 the unique opportunity to ex- plore the TJ Site, an unexcavated surface pueblo that is usually closed to the public. This free tour of the TJ site will be offered on Saturday, June 12 th at 11:00 a.m. and will last approximately 1 V2 hours. The tour is limited to 20 people and reservations Submitted by GCDNMI Silver City Superintendent Steve Riley announced today that Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument will offer a ranger-guided tour of the TJ Site on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended and visi- tors should dress for the weather, as the TJ Site is on an open mesa top and may be very windy, and bring a water bottle. Peggy Borovicka, the cur- rent postal clerk, retired May 31, 2010, and she will not be re- placed. In recent years, Peggy's husband, Tom, has serviced as the mail carder between Redrock and Lordsburg. The post office/general store has served as the "community center" of Redrock, a place for residents to visit and receive news of the valley. We are grateful to Peggy and Tom for all they have done for the community. They have served us well and will truly be missed.
