1 0 HIDALGO COUNTY HERALD FRIDAY, JULY11,2014 Q The Southwestern Research Station took first place overall with their entry. Charlie and Lorena Davis, long time Rodeo residents, were Grand Marshalls. The Cavaliere Family float"Flag Raising on Iwo Jima" won Most Patriotic. The wizard of Oz entry featured local children, along with two adults, and received the Best Walking Entry. Craig McEwan, dressed as Miss Gulch from the Wizard of Oz, stole the show, threatening to take people's little dogs. Entertaining the crowd. The Parade drew lots of entries. I would like to sincerely say "Thank you very much" to my (carpool) co-workers Danny, Fernando & David for their generous food donations. Your purchased items made my Brisket fundraiser a HUGE success. To Marco & Irma Arvizo, David & Sonia Arredondo, Gabe Guerrero, Javier, Miguel & Ismelda Sanchez, Anna Evans, Theresa Marquez, Gina Sanchez & DJ Gonzales--thank you for your cash and food donations as well. I would also like to say THANK YOU to John Jarrott for all your hard work helping me cook all the briskets. Special thanks to the following people for organizing and helping prepare and deliver plates: My loving family--Jody, Jennifer, Hailey & Joseph Danny Arvizo & Dave May Holly Mora, Liza and Tina I sincerely want to thank each and every person in the community for purchasing plates.
