The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program was established under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, in order to assist communities in providing essential community facilities, providing decent housing for residents, promoting economic development and maintaining a environment. The State of New Mexico estimates that approximately $14,000,000 will be appropriated for the 2010 funding cycle to be distributed statewide on a competitive basis.
