Sunshine Haven Nursing Home staff members Rey Saiz and Armi Rodriguez man the booth at the Discover Hidalgo County event at North Park this past weekend, By LORENZO ALBA, JR. Wow! Discover Hidalgo County was a massive event this past weekend! Organizations and businesses alike flooded North Park with vendor or informational booths. It was awesome? Sunshine Haven Nursing Home was on hand with its own infor- mation booth. We were giving away water and helium balloons to the kids. We even raffled off several items including a quilt made by the Sunny Quilters Club. Sunshine Haven's own sew- ing club. We had four winners ? Marsha Hill of Lordsburg won the quilt and other winners were Kim Valenzuela, Dana Arredondo and Jerry Thomas. I have been listening to the concerns of the voters and I will address these concerns. This office i, appointed by the public. There must be an open door policy in order to succeed and it should be run with what the public expects to have as a Sheriff Department. With experience comes knowledge, and knowledge is the key needed to undergo the changes that will have to be encountered this coming term. My plans for an Under Sheriff are to have an individual with experience in supervision and one who werks well with the public'. In order for him to be impartial and fair, he will not be an employee .from the Sheriff's Depamnent nor from the Lordsburg Police Department. EXPERIENCE MATTERS VOTE SATURNINO "NINO" MADERO
