All four junior high teams took on the Wildcats. Both the 7th and 8'h grade girls teams were victorious and the 7th grade boys team won as well. year. Both teams have very tal- ented players and are hoping to have a very successful season. The Lady Dogies kicked off their sea- son by battlfng it out with , Duncan, AZ. On Tuesday, November 16, the Lady Dogies opened their basketball season with a home game against Duncan. Both 7th and 8th grade girls were on a mission to start their season with a bang and that they did! The first game was the 7th grade Lady Dogies and they defeated Duncan 41 to 17. They Started off strong and played that way until the end. They never gave. up and each and every player gave it their all. Leading scor- ers for this game were Yadalis (LaLa) Martinez with 12 points, Jennifer Gonzalez with 9 points, Kayci Alvarez with 6 points, Mikayla Munoz and Lorena Martinez had 4 points, and Veronica Eckert , Kaitlin Hackworth, and Emma Salinas had 2 points. When the 8m grade Lady Dogies took the .court they started off their first half a little slow, but came out after half- time and showed Duncan what they were really made of defeat- ing them 32 to 11. Leading scor- ers for the 8th grade game were Taylor Hayes with 16 points, Rishae Allen with 6 points, Si- erra Ortega with 4 points, and Monet Neave, Samantha Contreras, and Jennifer Gonzalez with 2 points. The 7th and 8th grade boys Dogie basketball teams also started their season off at home against Duncan, AZ. The 7th grade boys were able to defeat Duncan and the 8th grade boys put up a fight, but came up short of a win. We would like to* congratu- late all four teams on their per- formance against Duncan! The DTMS has a lot of Dogie Pride this year and if you have a chance come out and support both Boys and Girls teams. The Lad.y Dogies will play La Plata at home on November 30th at 4 and 5 and the Boys will travel to LaRata playing at 4 and 5 as well. 228 E.
