It is from the America on the Move Foundation (2007) and fo- cuses on the tagline "Small Change Adds Up!" Three pages devoted to 100 ways to cut 100 calories per day. You can get an updated copy of this booklet, Spanish or English. at the website www.americaonthemove.org. A healthy weight and fit body depends on energy balance: balancing the amount of energy burned and food consumed in a day (calories=energy.) As the America on the Move tagline sug- gests, small changes in the types of foods we eat and in the portion sizes we choose can quickly add up to 100 or more reduced calo- ries/day. Add in those 2.000 steps (one mile. 4 laps around the track) and we see how easy it CAN BE to achieve a healthier energy bal- ance. "100 Ways .... " is too many for this column today, but here are a few ideas to get you started until you have a chance to get a booklet from the website men- tioned above.
