Rep. Pearce makes visitwtom County
Last Wednesday, United States Representative Steve Pearce traveled to
Lordsburg to recognize
local students and visit with constituents. The first stop on his visit was
to Lordsburg High School
where Rep. Pearce thanked and recognized students, staff and administration
for participation in the
2015 Congressional Art Competition. Alondra Gonzalez, a 2015 LHS graduate
won first prize in the
contest and was recognized at the Capitol Building. Following his visit to
LHS, Rep. Pearce toured the
new Border Patrol Station and later met with Hidalgo County ranchers to
discuss such issues as
natural resources, land management, and border security. Courtesy photos

DTMS seeks
70’s alumni
for Career Day
Submitted by PATRICK
RAMIREZ/DTMS Counselor
Who: Dugan-Tarango Middle
School
What: Career Day 9am to noon
Where: DTMS School
When: Friday, September 18,
2015
Why: To invite all interested
Dogie alumni
Over the last few years,
M: ' Dugan—Tarango Middle School
has held career days. We have
had presenters from all walks of
life who have reached out to our
future. Many presenters have no
connection toLordsburg, but
some presenters have.
We are Seeking as many
former seventies alumni to roam
their former stomping grounds
(ya little Dogies). Spend some
time with our fifth, sixth, seventh
and eighth graders. Give them the
message that with a little hard
work and commitment, they too,
can reach their career dreams.
Many students have not trav—
eled away from Lordsburg. They
have no concept of what it is like
to live and thrive in other com—
munities. Give them the courage
to really think for themselves that
there are plenty of opportunities
to be successful.
At DTMS we would be
thrilled to accommodate as many
70’s alumni who would be will—
ing to present. Present alone or
present as a group.
If you are interested contact
Mr. Patrick Ramirez at DTMS no
later than Tuesday, September
15‘“. He can be reached at
